Cubs Throw Combined No-Hitter

The Chicago Cubs pitchers threw a combined no-hitter on Wednesday night for the Cubs' first home no-hitter in 52 years.

Starter Shota Imanaga worked 7 strong innings, striking out seven and walking two batters. Nate Pearson and Porter Hodge threw perfect eighth and ninth innings respectively.

The Cubs routed the Pittsburgh Pirates 12-0.

It was Chicago's 18th no-hitter in franchise history, dating back to 1876. It was also the Cubs second combined no-hitter and 21st in Major League Baseball history.

*** On September 2, 1972, Milt Pappas' complete game gem was the last Cubs home no-hitter.
