The release of the new Jaguar commercial is facing backlash with its new ‘woke’ rebranding. The new ad is being dubbed as Bud Light 2.0.
The 30-second commercial features androgynous, mixed-race models in brightly colored, ostentatious outfits, including a male in a dress, did not feature a single car throughout the entire ad.
Slogans or phrases such as “create exuberant,” “live vivid,” “delete ordinary,” “break moulds” and “copy nothing” flash across the ad.
Several negative posts on X include “Do you sell cars?” from Elon Musk, X and Tesla CEO. Another from Robby Starbuck, conservative and corporate activist posted, “This just made me want to sell my Jaguar and I don’t even own a Jaguar.” The unfavorable comments go on and on.
Joseph Stauble, spokesperson for Jaguar Land Rover said, “Our brand relaunch for Jaguar is a bold and imaginative reinvention and as expected, it has attracted attention and debate.” Stauble added that the company “preserved iconic symbols while taking a dramatic leap forward.”
