Chuck Woolery Dies at 83

Popular game show host, Chuck Woolery died over the weekend at age 83 in his Texas home.

Woolery was the original host of Wheel of Fortune from 1975-1981 until Pat Sajak replaced him after contract disputes. Woolery went on to host several game shows including Love Connection from 1983-1994 and the revival of The Dating Game from 1998-2000. Woolery also hosted Scrabble from 1984-1990, Lingo from 2002-2007. Woolery also hosted the short-lived game show Greed and a short-lived talk show, The Chuck Woolery Show and podcast Blunt Force Truth.


Co-host of Blunt Force Truth, Mark Young posted on X, “It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away. Life will not be the same without him. RIP brother.” 


Woolery was inducted in the American TV Game Show Hall of Fame in 2007.


His wife Kristen, his daughter Melissa and his two sons Michael and Sean survive him.
