Calipari Signing with Arkansas

After 15 seasons at the helm of the Kentucky Wildcats Men's basketball team, coach John Calipari is moving on.

Calipari is signing a 5 year contract that will pay him around $8 million per season to be the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Before accepting the deal, it is reported that he sought assurances from Arkansas that he'd be able to bring his freshman class with him, and he'd have access to NIL guarantees.

Under Calipari, Kentucky made 12 NCAA Tournaments including four Final Four appearances. In recent years the program has not had much postseason success, winning only one NCAA Tournament game in the last four years, and their last NCAA Tournament Championship was in 2012 when they went 38-2 and beat the Kansas Jayhawks 67-59.

The Wildcats last SEC title was in 2018.

Calipari leaves Kentucky with the second most wins in school history with 533 behind Adolph Rupp's 876 wins.
