Caitlin Clark Leads Iowa to the Final Four

In an anticipated rematch in women’s college basketball, Caitlin Clark didn’t disappoint. Defending national champions, LSU (Tigers) took the loss against the University of Iowa (Hawkeyes) in last night’s Elite Eight match up 94-87. Last year the Hawkeyes fell short of the Tigers 102-85.

Clark’s performance was nothing but stellar with 41 points, (9 three pointers) 12 assists, and 7 rebounds.  Clark also set the new NCAA scoring record with her 3,900 total points. Clark is the first women’s basketball player to have over 3,000 points and 1,000 assists. She also broke the record for most points in a season with 1,183 and 3-point record with 540. Clark was also named the regional’s Most Outstanding Player.

Clark, a senior, is expected to be selected as the #1 pick in the WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever on April 15.

The Hawkeyes will get another chance at the championship when they play UConn in the national semifinals on Friday at 9:30 p.m. in Cleveland. North Carolina State will take on the University of South Carolina at 7:00 p.m.
