Republican Congressman, Byron Donalds, announced he plans to run for Governor in the state of Florida in 2026 to succeed Ron DeSantis, who has reached his term limits.
Donalds, 46, has already received the endorsement from President Trump. Trump posted last week on Truth Social, “Byron Donalds would be a truly Great and Powerful Governor for Florida and, should he decide to run, will have my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, BYRON, RUN!”
DeSantis hinted that his wife, Casey would be a worthy Governor and said, “She’s somebody that has, I think, the intestinal fortitude and the dedication of conservative principles that you know anything we’ve accomplished, she’d be able to take to the next level.”
If Donalds wins, he’d be the first black Governor of Florida, and if Casey DeSantis runs and wins, she’d be the first woman Governor of the state.
