Bill Belichick Leaves The Patriots

Iconic NFL coach, Bill Belichick has stepped down after 24 seasons with the New England Patriots.

Belichick went 266-112 in regular season games, has won 30 of the 42-playoff games and won 6 Super Bowls in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, and 2019 with the Patriots.

Belichick said in a news conference, “I will always be a Patriot.” He went on to thank owner Robert Kraft and the entire Patriots staff, coaches, players and fans. “At this time, we’re going to move on and I look forward and excited for the future.”

Belichick added, “We had a vision of building a championship football team that has exceeded my wildest dreams and expectations. I’m very proud of that. I’ll always have those memories, will carry those with me the rest of my life.”

Owner Robert Kraft said, “Yesterday we met and mutually agreed to part ways amicably.” He added that he was, “Very proud that our partnership lasted for 24 years.” Kraft said, “We had high expectations of what we could achieve together… we exceeded them.” Kraft went on to say, “Some of my happiest and most memorable moments were celebrated with my family during Bill’s tenure here.”

Not at a loss for words on Belichick, Kraft said, “Coach Belichick will forever be celebrated as a legendary sports icon here in New England and I believe go in as a Pro Football Hall of Famer on a first-ballot, why, because he is the greatest coach of all times.”

It is unclear if Belichick will take another coaching job with one of the current openings at either the Raiders, Panthers, Titans, Seahawks, Chargers, Commanders or Falcons franchises.
