In an announcement released on X/Twitter on Sunday, President Joe Biden officially announced that he is dropping out of the 2024 presidential race.
This came after calls from many Democrat lawmakers asking for Biden to step aside and "pass the torch."
In a post moments later, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the party nominee.
Biden will address the nation in a speech at a later date.
