Baltimore’s Key Bridge Demolished & Container Ship Removed

After crashing into and destroying the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, the container ship, Dali has been removed after the demolition of the remainder of the bridge took place.

The operation began last week with the demolition of the remaining parts of the bridge.

Pieces of the bridge were blown up and all the metal on the ship had to be removed as well as 1.25 million gallons of water, which was on board.

The Dali was slowly taken to shore on Monday as 5 tugboats assisted in the move during high tide just before 7 a.m. yesterday morning. The tugboats pulled and moved the massive cargo ship out of the position it had been stuck in for nearly 2 months on the Patapsco River and escorted the Dali 2-and-a-half miles to the local port.

The ship’s crew of 22 members was unharmed but had still been on board the Dali this whole time.
