Baker Retires

Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker announced he is retiring from managing after 26 seasons.

Astros owner Jim Crane said Baker is "always welcome here."

Baker spent 10 years with the San Francisco Giants, 4 years with the Chicago Cubs, 6 with the Cincinnati Reds, 2 with the Washington Nationals and his last 4 years with the Houston Astros. He finished his managerial career with 2,183 wins, which is 7th on the all-time wins list. He won his only World Series last season when the Astros beat the Phillies, becoming the oldest manager in MLB history to win a World Serres. He was 73 years old. I'm retiring from the field here in Houston," Baker said. "I haven't made up my mind what I'm going to do or where I'm going to go... I still feel like I haven't done what I'm supposed to do in life. I feel the Lord has great things ahead for me."
