Badcock/Conn’s Closing All Stores

After over 100 years in business, Badcock Home Furniture & More is closing all of its stores. Henry Stanhope Badcock, an immigrant from England, founded the company in 1904 in Mulberry, FL.

The Texas based furniture retailer, Conn’s purchased the company last year with hopes it would boost sales throughout the Southern states.

Conn’s Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will close 380 Badcock stores, 170 Conn’s stores and over 70 HomePlus (also owned by Conn’s) stores after running their liquidation/going out of business sales.

Badcock has store locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. The companies employ about 3,800 full-time and 150 part-time workers.
