Arizona GOP Chair Resigns

After a recording of Arizona Republican Party Chair Jeff DeWit was leaked and posted by the Daily Mail on Tuesday, with him offering Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake a bribe if she didn't run in the race for Senate, he has now resigned on Wednesday.

The conversation took place in March of 2023 between DeWit and Lake.  You can clearly hear him offering Lake money not to enter the race. Even says he was told to see if there was a company she would be interested in putting her on the payroll for a couple of years if she would stay out of the race for now.

DeWit claims the audio is taken out of context but regrets some of the things he said yet feels he was set up by Lake so she can have control over the state party.

Amazing how he can try and play the victim now.  He's offering her a bribe not to run. Period.  Just because they recorded him doesn't put the blame with her. Perhaps if he wasn't offering a bribe to keep her out of the race, there would've been nothing to be leaked??? The corruption in both political parties is out of control.

On Tuesday night after the release of the audio Lake said..

"He's gotta resign. We can't have somebody who is corrupt and compromised running the Republican Party."

Part of the transcript says...

DeWit  -  "So, the ask I got today from back east was: Is there any companies out there or something that could just put her on the payroll to keep her out?"

Lake -  "This is not about money; this is about our country.  I think it's disturbing."

Lake  -  "I'm not going to let these people back in D.C. tell me not to run. I'm not going to

pause for two years. The battle is now. I'm offended by whoever these people are that they are trying to buy me out."

DeWit  -  "There are very powerful people who are gonna keep you out, but they're willing to put their money where their mouth is in a big way."
