The Associated Press (AP) has announced its AP Coach of the Year.
Houston Cougars coach Kelvin Sampson was announced as the winner of the Associated Press Coach of the Year Award.
Sampson received 23 of 62 votes from the national panel edging out Connecticut Huskies coach Dan Hurley who got 21 votes.
Houston finished the season 32-5 overall and 15-3 in Conference play. The Cougars lost to the Duke Blue Devils in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament.
