Two more distribution centers, where thousands of Teamster drivers are striking joined the 7 original locations. Staten Island, NY and San Bernardino, CA united with the Maspeth, NY, Alpharetta, GA, Skokie, IL and San Francisco, Palmdale, Victorville and Industry, CA for a total of 9 locations now striking.
The strike started 5 days ago and Amazon is standing firm saying they don’t have any intentions to meet with the Teamsters Union, management or drivers because they say they don’t employ anyone belonging to the union. They claim they hire through a third party company, which then hires the employees/drivers.
The Teamsters Union claims Amazon is refusing to follow the law and bargain with their employees who organized with Teamsters.
