Shortly after being sworn in as Attorney General, Pam Bondi froze federal funding to sanctuary cities.
Bondi's funding freeze follows through on a Trump campaign promise to pull funding from cities that refused to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
On Thursday, the Justice Department showed they are serious about cracking down on illegal immigration and the cities trying to block them when they sued the state of Illinois and the city is of Chicago for interfering with federal immigration laws.
The DOJ's lawsuit states...
"Illinois and Chicago's sanctuary city laws are designed to and in fact interfere with and discriminate against the Federal Government's enforcement of federal immigration law in violation of the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution."
