All 4 of the MLB wildcard series' ended in a sweep on Wednesday.
The Texas Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-1 to complete their sweep at Tropicana Field. It was the Rangers' 1st playoff series win since the 2011 American League Championship series. They will now face AL East Champion Baltimore Orioles in the American League Division series.
The Minnesota Twins beat the Toronto Blue Jays 2-0 to complete their sweep at home. It was the Twins 1st post season series win since defeating the Oakland Athletics in 2002. They will now face the defending World Series Champion Houston Astros in the American League Division series.
Just two years after a 110 loss season the Arizona Diamondbacks swept the NL Central Champion Milwaukee Brewers with their 5-2 win in Milwaukee. They will now face the NL West Champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division series.
The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Miami Marlins 7-1 to complete their sweep at home. They will now face NL East Champion Atlanta Braves in a rematch of last years Nation League Division series.
All Division series' will start on Saturday, October 7th.
