7 Players Receive Qualifying Offer

As the qualifying offer deadline of Monday at 5pm came and went, only seven players received an offer. The qualifying offer is a one year deal worth $20.325 million. Players whose contract is up and now are free agents are eligible for the offer if they were with the team the whole season. If they were traded during the season they would not be eligible to get an offer.

The players who received offers from their former club have until 4pm on Monday, November 14th..

The players receiving an offer are...

Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels)

Cody Bellinger (Chicago Cubs)

Matt Chapman (Toronto Blue Jays)

Josh Hader (San Diego Padres)

Blake Snell (San Diego Padres)

Aaron Nola (Philadelphia Phillies)

Sonny Gray (Minnesota Twins)

Players can only receive a qualifying offer once during their career.

Teams who make a qualifying offer and it is rejected by a player that signs elsewhere will receive draft pick compensation in 2024. The team can also still negotiate and re-sign a player if they rejected the qualifying offer. If a team signs a player who rejected the offer, they have to give up a draft pick as compensation.
