After seeing his shadow on Sunday, Punxsutawney Phil predicts there will be 6 more weeks of winter. At 7:25 a.m. ET on Gobbler’s Knob, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, the Inner Circle pulled Phil out of his burrow after knocking three times for him to make his prediction.
The annual ritual of Groundhog’s Day began on February 2, 1887. Phil has been making his predictions ever since and is said to be 138 years old. Phil also has a wife, Phyllis and two pups, born in March 2024; female Sunny and male Shadow.
Phil’s accuracy rate is 39%.
