11,000 Illegals A Day

CBP sources report there are close to 11,000 illegal immigrants crossings a day amongst the southwest borders.

Eagle Pass, Texas has not seen the amount of illegals coming as they’ve been seeing the past week. Border Patrol has about 45-50 agents on duty each day, but there are more than 2,000 illegal immigrants coming across the Rio Grande into Eagle Pass daily. Agents are basically there doing nothing more than processing and transporting the illegals, and assisting with getting them medical attention. CBP said because 90% of Border Patrol Agents are in the “processing” roll, it leaves more than 60 miles of unpatrolled in Eagle Pass alone.

Illegal are going through the razor wire. Border Patrol had to cut the wire to help women and children get through, and with temperatures sweltering in Texas, many were even taken by boat to the bridge. Most of the illegal immigrant surge in Eagle Pass has been from Venezuela. It is reported that they believe if they can make it through the Rio Grande, get through the razor wire, they will be released into the US.

Although not know exactly where they will be stationed, the administration is supposed to send an additional 800 federal active duty troops to the border. Art Del Cueto, National Border Patrol Council VP, said of the crisis, “…the individuals know, there’s no consequences. Come across the border, look for an agent, ask for asylum and you will get released. Zero consequences. And that is what this administration has caused.” Del Cueto said, “You know the cartels are controlling it because people come across in New Mexico and they decide what group crossed where. You see the huge number of Venezuelans crossing in Del Rio, you see people from Haiti and Cuba coming across in El Paso, your gonna look over to Tucson sector and you see the huge number of individuals from Northeast Africa and Egypt coming across those areas of the border.”

Del Cueto believes the cartels are “strategically” telling the migrants when, where and how many to cross in certain areas. He said agents, media and the public are getting distracted and the agents are preoccupied with transportation and processing. Del Cueto says he “can’t even imagine how bad it’s gonna continue to get…This can stop today if the administration had consequences; detain individuals, have immigration judges at the border, have asylum officers at the border, and those that do not qualify, send those individuals back to their country. Instead they are just saying ‘come one, come all, get released, and show up to court whenever you decide to show up to court.’”

Del Cueto added, “It is one huge mess that this administration created.” Texas Congressional candidate, Victor Avila, said "El Paso, Texas has over 5,000 migrants in a 2,400 capacity facility and there are over 1,000 a day getting released a day into the streets" Avila stated, “The city of El Paso is trying to buy an abandoned school to put them in there. The NGO’s ran out of space, HHS ran out of space. They have nowhere to put them and their actually being released to the streets.” Avila said he is running for congress to try to change the policies of this crisis.
